Celebrate the resounding high-notes and sultry low-tones of love as the Little Opera Companypresents their season opener, A Viennese Valentine. Showcasing some of Winnipeg’s finest established and emerging opera artists this joyful recital features magical moments from two light-hearted operettas, Die Fledermaus and The Merry Widow. Audiences will delight in the arias and ensembles of Johann Strauss’s beloved operatic confection, Die Fledermaus. Well-known pieces from the popular operetta; including ‘Rosalinda Love of Mine’, ‘Laughing Song’ and ‘Csardas’, will get the evening off to a melodic start.Following intermission audiences will be treated to the intoxicating whirl of elegant ladies, eligible bachelors, and ever-flowing champagne in Franz Lehár's The Merry Widow; featuring favourites such as ‘A Highly Respectable Wife’, ‘You’ll Find Me at Maxim’s’ and ‘It Goes to Show’.
